I dont think you can increase the speed of the motor but if the motor is driving some piece of rotating equipment (pump etc) the speed of the driven shaft can be increased up to the point where the motor reaches full load current.
It is used for sensorless motor control. With vf speed control u can control speed of any induction motor.
Dc shunt motor is constant speed motor. Its speed is constant with armature current. This shunt motor is used in paper mills and drilling machines
The power output of a motor can be changed by the use of gears. Gears can be used to increase torque by reducing the speed of the output shaft by placing a large gear on the output shaft, coupled to a smaller gear. Conversely, by using a small gear on the output shaft, coupled to a larger gear, the speed can be increased with a reduction in torque.
variable voltage control has some limitations as you decrease the voltage corresponding phase current will increase lead to increase of flux which lead to saturation of motor core and heating of motor to make flux constant and vary speed of motor v/f ratio need to be maintained constant
Snub pulleys are used to increase the angle of wrap of the driver pulley or and to change the direction of belt(deflector pulley)
yes
A bevel gear is used to increase speed.
probably to drive the motor, I dont really know sorry
There are two ways of changing the speed of AC motors,by altering the frequency or the number of poles in the motor. An increase in frequency of the supply voltage to the motor will cause it's speed to increase while reducing the frequency will causes the motor speed to drop. This is the method exploited by Variable Speed/Frequency Drive. The second method of changing the number of motor's stator poles is the difficult. The manufacture must design the motor such that the number of the motor's pole in operation can be increased or reduced. Increasing the number of poles increases the stator flux density which decreases the speed. Decreasing the number of poles does the opposite. This method is typically found in two speed motors and it's rarely used compared to VSDs.

The motor is slowing down due to the load. DC Speed controllers can only slow down motors, not increase the speed/power. 3 phase AC motors are slightly different, in that the speed is controlled by a VFD (Variable Frequency Drive), which can increase or decrease the speed of a motor, provided the motor is large enough to handle the load initially. If the motor is slowing down after a load is applied, and does not regain running speed after the load has "spun up", a more powerful motor is required. Read motor data sheet for running speed. If the motor is hot while running a load, it is more than likely overloaded or at the load limit. Motors with at least 10% to 25% extra power over bare minimum should be used to make up for loss of efficiency, bearing issues, etc. over time.

In any DC motor the speed depends inversely on the flux. Consider when starting a series motor the current flowing will be high, but the flux that the motor produces will be moderate since the series winding has less number of turns. If u start the motor without load the speed will increase. as speed increases the back emf increases. this decreases the current through the series winding and hence flux decreases and the speed further increases. Theoretically speaking the speed becomes infinite. But practically the motor will accelerate to very high speed , which will damage the motor. But if you start the motor with the load, you are actually reducing the starting speed hence the motor runs safely. Since series motors has this property it is used in trains to pull high load.
An SCR chip is commonly used to control the speed of a motor. The speed is controlled using an AC circuit and phase angles.
