No. We can only educate. Drugs provide pleasure and an escape. If they didn't people would have no desire to use them. These people either fell into the wrong crowd or have inadequate coping skills. Educate! And I don't mean saying to kids "Don't do drugs they are bad for you." That is too general. Kids view that kind of statement as if you are patronizing them and won't take you seriously or that they aren't as bad as you say they are. Sit them down and tell them the ugly truth, use visual aids, photos, videos of someone overdosing or going through withdrawls, before and after photos of using drugs such as crystal-meth or take them to a mental institution where someone dropped to much acid or some other drug and permanently destroyed their brain, those people are here physically but gone forever mentally. Get down to the molecular level of what the drugs are doing to their body especially their brain!
