This is the hardest boss on the game. I will give you as much help as I can. First, to have any shot at winning you must have all magic enhancing abilities equipped such as all MP rages and MP Haste. The Second Chance ability is also mandatory. Ars Arcana and Strike Raid are also nice to have. Have Cure mapped to quick spell buttons.

PHASE I- Lifebars 1+2 It is suggested to have oblivion or ultima weapon equipped

Sephiroth has 6 life bars. 5 normal ones, and one "invisible" one that you

must get rid of before his damage meter starts to go down. This phase really

isn't that difficult. He has two primary attacks. If you get near him, he'll

lunge at you with his sword, which reaches a long way. If you stay

near him, he'll cast Halo, which causes a lot of

damage. He can also jump across the arena and lunge at you with his sword.

STRATEGY:

For this phase, basically you need to ALWAYS KEEP YOURSELF HIGH ON HEALTH! It will

save your butt. Run around for a while and when he jumps across the arena he won't try to attack you until he's safely on the ground. So right as he touches the ground then, unleash a combo. Note that if you successfully land a 4-hit combo, he

will disappear and teleport behind you to try to damage you, just use Dodge roll and get out of the way and after you roll 2 or 3 times lock onto him again. NEVER EVER go near him! just wait until he jumps at you. After you take off his first "visible" life bar, he'll enter his next "phase", which is probably the most difficult.

PHASE II- Lifebars 3+4

Now, he's much tougher. In my opinion, this is his hardest phase. He has three

primary attacks in this stage. First, he'll run like a madman across the

arena, slashing you and teleporting directly behind you. There's not much to

do here except to keep yourself cured and using dodge roll. However, you need to try to time your rolls when he teleports around. His second attack is to teleport

across the arena and do a spell that will lower your health to 1 and take away all of your magic. Finally, he will jump up in the air and fly at you, slashing away for about 10 seconds, finishing with a difficult to avoid combo.

STRATEGY:

As I said before, while he's teleporting around the arena, he's VERY difficult

to hit, and you need to time your rolls correctly. Every once in a while,

he'll teleport across the arena and say "Sin Heartless Angels" When you see the orange light on him, IMMEDIATELY superglide or roll to him and hit him a few times to interrupt his spell. If you see the orange light get to you BEFORE you get to him, IMMEDIATELY go into your item menu. The INSTANT he performs the spell, click your elixir, cause he'll be charging at you, trying to finish you off. For his third attack, he'll give you about a second warning by the arena getting much darker. That's your cue to roll around. Just repeatedly roll around. He'll get you a few times, but if you roll a lot, he won't kill you. After it's over, IMMEDIATELY cure. Then, he will ALWAYS teleport across the arena and do his heartless angel-spell again, so lock onto him and superglide to him to interrupt it.

After the entire yellow bar is visible, he'll enter his final phase.

PHASE III- Lifebars 5+6

In this phase, he will go to the center of the arena and a huge light will

come on him. He will then call down 5 or 6 meteors, so jump up to avoid the

waves of them landing. The meteors will then go in circles around the arena,

and there's no safe place. He will then detonate the meteors, creating a huge

explosion. His other attacks involve creating a series of smaller meteors

around him and bringing them toward you. They don't do much damage when you're rolling in between them. He will also spin around in a circle and leap at you saying "Stop

this!" He will also occasionally use the mega-fire spell and the constant

slashing attack followed by the heartless angel spell. However, this time he usually

does the constant slashing attack two times in a row, so make sure you cure in between.

STRATEGY:

When he summons the meteors, roll around in between them. Jump up to avoid some of the waves of the meteors landing. When he

makes them go in circles, I just rolled between them. After he detonates the meteors, just wait until he does heartless angel and you'll get an easy 4 hits.

This phase basically involves rushing in on him while he's doing heartless angel and slashing away, retreating, healing, and rolling when necessary. However, when he does the constant slashing attack, retreat and roll around again, and make sure to superglide to him to interrupt the heartless angel spell. This part is made even more difficult by the fact that your hits appear to do less damage to him. Just stick with it

though, and this phase won't be too diffucult. Just remember the golden rule:

HEAL AND ROLL!! He will eventually fall.

And before anyone asks, no, there is no long cutscene after the battle, which

surprised me.

Good luck.

Preperation: First off, make sure you are at least lv 70 or higher. Also make sure you have stocked as many high potions as possible. If I were you, I'd set my potions to shortcut instead of spells. Yes, even cura, because Sephiroth will want to drain your mp a LOT. Next, make sure you have your strongest keyblade equipped. Even if you are an extensive magic user, spells do not work well against Sephiroth, go for strength, not magic.

Abilities: Make sure you have as many combo abilities on as possible. Also equip aerial recovery. If you have abilities like "lucky lucky" or something like that, drop it for fighting abilities temporarily. Also equip finishers and aerial finishers. These attacks will do MASSIVE damage.

Forms: You cannot use forms while fighting, however the abilities from the forms can be used if you have leveled them enough. I would highly recommend having a lv 5 wisdom form and lv 5 final form. You will understand later in the explanation.

While fighting: Don't let it slip your mind that he starts off with his 6 slash attack. Press Δ at the beginning of the fight. As soon as you finish blocking, attack him before he can recover, but back off after your first combo; if you get too reckless then you will be very seriously hurt right off the bat. If he launches you into the air use that aerial recovery you equipped to counter back on him and gain the advantage. Sepheroth's cheapest move is the heartless angel, where he drops your hp to 1 and magic to 0. RESIST THE TEMPTATION TO CURE IMMEDIATELY. As soon as he drops your hp he will go for the 6 slash attack again, block that and then heal! When he uses his gravity fire, use either the glide from your lv 5 final, or your dash from your lv 5 wisdom. when he stops he will attack you again, wait until he finishes to attack again. The little purpleish black balls are really just nuisances, but they can open you up for an attack. Either glide over them, or slash them to get them out of your way. Use the trinity limit whenever he isn't using a special attack, it can prove very useful in the fight.

Reminder: Sephiroth gets harder to fight after you deplete half of his heath. Keep that in mind while fighting. Also make sure you use a potion any time you get lower then 50% health. He can take the rest of very quickly.

Get to lvl 80, then use all the last chance and any other health and life saving ability. Have thunder and cure on the quicklist. About halfway through the fight he will use an ability where he starts to glow. USE A COMBO at this point in time. he will be hard to reach. When you can one hit him, use thunder.

also remember to equip beserk (not a drive) and watch out for the rocks that he calls.

enjoy!

The easiest way to beat him is to have the proper abilities, Keyblade, and items equipped. Also, having Sora at a decent level helps. Which is about 45 on Beginner mode, 55 on Normal, and 60 - 65 on Professional.

The proper abilities vary based on your playing style. As a personal preference, I have the following equipped:

Keyblade: Oblivion

Abilities: High Jump LV. 2 (1 minimum), Quick Run LV. 1, Aerial Dodge LV. 2 (1 minimum), Retaliating Slash, Leaf Bracer (And any other abilities that increase the number of available combos & speed of MP Restoration)

Items: High Potion x4, Ether x2

Avoid using magic as it will no effect. Conserve it for healing. Keep Cure, High Potion, and Ether in your shortcut menu. Use Retaliating Slash (hit the "square" button right before he reappears after knocking you into the air.

When he performs his huge sword combos on the ground, avoid them by jumping into the air and pressing the Jump button again at the height of your jump. Avoid his flame tornadoes by running the opposite direction and using Quick Run when they begin to draw you in.

Even when employing these tactics, Sephiroth is still an extremely dangerous foe and will take some time to defeat. Good luck!

UPDATE (Computergeek101234): Contrary to what people say, you can beat him at level 45 as I have done it. When he jumps into the air to perform his attack that leaves you with 1 HP, he will stop if you hit him before he says "the heartless angel".

Boss: Sephiroth

Difficulty: Incredibly Hard

HP: 1800

EXP: 18,000p

Rewards: None

Location: Platinum Match in Coliseum (available after Hercules Cup)

Suggested Level: 75 or higher

Suggested Abilities:

MP Haste

MP Rage (both)

Critical Plus (at least two)

Second Chance

Strike Raid

Sephiroth is, of course, from Final Fantasy VII. He is the game's hardest Boss. It took me three hours to beat him, and I used a variety of different strategies, but the one that follows is, in my opinion, the best. Make sure that you have ALL of the above abilities equipped, and that ALL of your item slots are filled with ELIXIRS.

Sephiroth's sword is HUGE, and it has an enormous range. He will teleport around the arena, mostly in an attempt to get behind you. Always be on your guard. Speaking of Guard, you shouldn't have it with you in this battle, because very few of Sephiroth's blows can be deflected. Huge pillars of fire will form around Sephiroth. This doesn't make him invulnerable, and you can attack him as soon as it's over, during it, if you have a lot of HP.

Sin Harvest is Sephiroth's most terrible attack. He will float in the air and hit you with an ultra-powerful spell that will reduce your MP to 0, and your HP to 1. If second Chance isn't equipped, then Sin Harvest will kill you instantly. Use Strike Raid to

interrupt Sin Harvest.

Remember the Omnislash that Cloud used to cream Sephiroth at the end of Final Fantasy VII? Well, the Great White-Haired One has decided to add that awesome move to his repertoire. He performs a frenzied series of sword slashes, but they don't stun you, and you can escape quite a bit of damage by using Dodge Roll, or casting CURE right in the middle of the assault. About halfway through the fight,

Sephiroth will surround himself with orbs. He will come after you, performing sword slashes and transporting. This attack doesn't do that much damage, but it can incapacitate you long enough for Sephiroth to get in some good hits.

In the last act, Sephiroth will blend all of his attacks together, and introduce a new one. Meteors form above his head, and spin around him, damaging you if they make contact. Then, they turn into one big meteor, which comes after you. During this phase, he is invincible.

Basically, as long as you don't rush things, and are well-prepared, victory will be in your grasp.

You have to practice getting used to his moves. I started fighting him to get used to his moves when I was about level 60. As i got stronger, I went out to fight him. And since I already had knowledge about his moves, I could react faster and beat much easily. Also, always get ready to press triangle for reaction commands, if you get hit, it's really deadly.

Sephiroth is the hardest boss to beat. You can only find him in Hallow Bastion, in the dark depths, when you have completed every world except the world that never was. His combo can kill you if caught in it, and his moves are deadly. To start out, make sure you have hi or mega potions in your items section (don't use ethers, they only heal mp and will waste time)If you have Ultima weapon, use it. If you don't, use decisive pumkin or Oblivian. Make sure you have lvl2 or 3 glide because glide makes this battle so much easier! (hint: Glide can be obtained by leveling up your final form) make sure you have reflect and cure on, also once more and second chance, because this fight is ROUGH!(Do not put on guard, it will have no use what-so-ever)

He will start out with a reaction command, make sure you hit it or you will get hurt bad. He will use the reaction command from time to time. He will start dissapearing around, trying to hit you, use glide to dodge his attacks. He will then walk slowly on the ground with his sword held up, like he is ready to block something. DO NOT hit him when he is like this, because he will hit you and the combo is very deadly. If he catches you in the combo, don't worry, use a potion or cure because you just got saved by once more and second chance!

He will then use an attack that is one his most deadly of all called "Sin Harvest" He will rise into the air, surrounded by a pink light, then he will say something like "Descend, heartless angel." Once he finishes the word "angel" you will have 1 hp left and no MP. Potions will not help because he will automatically attack you after Sin Harvest. The only way to prevent him from doing this, is by simply attacking him. then he will do the stufff like in paragraph one.

Once his health is almost halfway, he will start using dark orbs that surround you. These will follow you if you try to run or use glide. In a few second they will dive into you and hurt you. Use reflect on the orbs to deflect them back to Sephiroth. If he uses the orbs then does the reaction command, don't use reflect because you might dodge the orbs, but get hurt by the combo. Instead, use the reaction command because it will deflect the orbs and Sphiroth's attack.

Once his health is down to about 5 bars, he will start using a flame attack that pulls you in, but can easily be dodged by using glide.

once his health is down to 2 or 3 bars, he will use his most absolute deadly attack: Super Nova. This is more deadly than Sin Harvest because it is not easy to dodge and is a deadly rapid attack. The sky will be surrounded by flames, then he will shoot meteors at you. Make sure you keep using glide and watch where your going, one wrong move could lead to your death.

Repeat all these steps until he is defeated. It will then show a cutscene where he says he cannot be defeated by you. He then tells you to go find cloud and tell him where he is. Cloud can be found in the square where you start off at Hollow Bastion. He will ask that if you have seen Sephiroth and you have the option to say "Nope" or "Well..." choose "Well..." beuase that means yes. It will then show a cutscene where tifa comes in and tries to beat up Sephiroth. She keep failing. Then Cloud comes in for some Kick-Ass fighting! in the end, Tifa gives Cloud here light and Sephiroth and Cloud disappear. Sora will ask where they went and Tifa will say that Cloud has gone to fight his darkness. She will then leave, giving you something. And behold, the mighty Fenrir keyblade with the best strength, comes with a negative combo. Once you have this keyblade you have bragging rights about your fight with Sephiroth! Congratz!

He is really easy if you are on level 80+. If you got Knights of the Round, that makes the battle a cinch.
