If you can't get it to start with a good battery and you can't see any bad wires, etc. - you need to remove it and take it to a parts store to be checked. (it probably makes sense to just replace it while it's off.)
at $200.00 for the starter i would make real sure you need one
also check all the starter relays, and your ign switch.
ANSWER: Just buy a new starter!

Begin by removing the positive cable from your 1993 Chevy Camaro battery. Remove the cables from the front of the starter. Remove the starter retaining bolts. The starter will come off.
There is not a camshaft sensor on the '93 3.1 Lumina, just a crank sensor on the back side of the engine between the block and the barrel of the transaxle. Easy enough to get to from underneath the car.
All together depending on where you go parts and labor about 722.00 : - )
The 1993 Chevy Lumina 3.1 liter engine timing belt can be found on the front of the engine. You will need to remove the front engine cover in order to access the timing belt.
The majority of the 93 Chevy Lumina vans requires a size 14 tires. A size 17 would not fit properly on the van. While you can spend extra money to have the van altered to fit the tires, it isn't worth it in the long run.
I need to know how to change a starter on a 93 Chevy z71 Unhook battery cables from battery, take the ground wire off starter, take power wire off starter, take the 2 bolts out of starter and should come right out
Behind coolent over flow tank passenger side under hood
Should be under the vehicle along the frame- follow the fuel line from the tank
the 93 lumina had 3 different trans and the 95 had 2. the only trans they both have the same is the 4-speed 4T60-E automatic. if you have a 3.1l engine you most likely have the 4t60-E trans.
Disconnect the battery cable. Remove the bolts that hold the starter in place. Disconnect the wires. Instahlation is in reverse.
I have a 93 euro 3.1 with 186k and am getting between 20 and 25 depending on how I drive.
