why would you want to do that in the first place manuals are more durable and easier to work on. I wouldn't

It can be done, but it's definitely NOT a job for the amateur backyard mechanic. You'd probably be looking at $2000-$3000 for this to be done by a professional.

Don'tSwitching this vehicle to an A/T would be cost prohibitive and IMO a bad idea. My advice, if you must have an automatic, is to sell this Jeep and purchase one with an A/T. And what ever you do, do not buy a 4 cylinder Jeep with an A/T. Get the 4.0 In-line 6 cylinder. The 4 cylinder is OK with a manual transmission but when hooked to an A/T, is not a pleasure to drive. The in-line 6 is also a much more dependable engine and the extra power makes the Jeep Wrangler an all around better vehicle.

The cost of converting a Jeep Wrangler from a manual transmission to an automatic one will be approximately $4,000 in parts alone. If you choose to have a mechanic do the work, it will be approximately another $1,000 to $1,500. These figures depend on your geography and the skill level of the mechanic in question.

Converting a manual transmission to automatic transmission is not possible but you can replace a manual transmission to an automativ transmission . That is also an expensive deal.

Converting from the stock auto to the stock AX15 tranny is no problem. It uses the same mounts and everything.

Have a donor vehicle for the necessary parts. Otherwise, get ready to spend more money on parts than you thought possible to convert this vehicle to manual. A very simple and wise decision is to sell this Wrangler and go buy one with a Manual transmission. You will be money ahead.
