How do you convince your parents to let you get your ears pierced?

the trick to it would be showing your parents some responsibility and the ability to take care of it you could do more things around the house maybe show how well you can take care of yourself do your own laundry,pick up after yourself maybe even raise the funds doing chores and things. i think if your parents where resonable people and didint have any religious or personal reasons against it and you went above and beyond to show them how much it ment to u they would agree

I have this problem, my mum is gonna tell me 2morrow whether i can have them done...

I don't want to get my hopes up but it looks promising....

What I did was quite a while ago ( a few months) I wrote a list of why I should have them done (I would pay for it, all my friends have them done, I will look after them, etc.) then i showed it to her. she told me to show it to my dad so i did. then they talked about infections and how her and my grandma both got infections and i accepted her answer then I told her to list why i shouldn't get them done... she could only mention infections so that was that.

Now, I am not in the habbit of cleaning my teeth and bedroom so the deal was that if i cleaned my teeth 2ice a day and kept my bedroom reasonably tidy until 2 months, i could get them done. ok so i wasnt that good for the teeth so then it got extended to the end of the school year. and now it is so now she is thinking about the final answer...and hopefully, I'll get them done by the end of this week... yey!

I say try to figure out a good reason or make a deal or if you got good grades or something or say if you don't like it, i will take it out.

Sit down with your parents and talk about it with them, theres nothing wrong with a body piercing and if their point is that you wont be able to get a job later on, just tell them that if you do end up getting the piercing and a job you really want wont let you have one then you'll take it out.

there's no "real" way to convince your parents, maybe you should write down both the positives and negatives about having your nose pierced, sit down with your parents, and go over both the positives an the negatives. good luck.

Start by getting good grades in school and just being a nice person to your folks. Show them you are very levelheaded and sane. Then get your ears pierced and then mention to them off handedly about all the different piercings that are available. Your really just sending up a "test-balloon" to see how they react. Make some statements where you take a moderate to conservative stance on the number or type of piercings that are out there.

If they say " your never getting anything but your ears" then wait till your 18. Parents also want to be reassured that your are not going to end up as a total freak show, so say something, like, " I don't think I could ever get more than three" piercings, and definitely not tattoos". Only after you have slipped the information to your folks over a period of weeks, do you come out and ask for the eyebrow piercing. Let them know that its "the last piercing I will ever want and you will not have to get me anything else for Xmas/ my birthday" Give them a cash savings incentive.

These are just general pointers, you gotta know your parents and their worldview. Adapt as necessary. Some kids will just wear their parents down. I hear about all the time, I'm 40 and I teach 10 grade world history. Tell the folks that you want it now because your a teen and will take it out when you go to college, because its really a "kid" thing.

Well it's pretty easy, start by doing your research, find out what the rules are for somone your age to a piercing. Find out about the aftercare and what you need to do to take care of the piercing. Body Piercing facilities are inspected by the local health protection and inspection office and are licensed by the local city hall business licensing department. Listed in the yellow pages under heading of "Body Piercing" and or "Tattoos". All Body Piercing and Tattoo studios have age limits set by the licensing agency so age limits can vary from town to town and city to city. Prices for piercings can also vary from shop to shop as well as the requirements for parental consent. Your best bet is to call your local city hall business licensing office and ask about age requirements for your area. Then call the local studios listed and ask about shop policies and prices. Once you have all that done then sit down and discuss it with your folks and go over what you have found out, all you parent want you to do is make good decisions once they know you know how to research things and make good plans, maybe they may just let you get it done.

To get a lip piercing , with my mum I went on and nagged her , I offered to pay for it and ask if I could have it for my birthday. And she finally agreed. But respect your mums decision and opinion , if she says no then you can get it later on in life . I wished I didn't get my lip done til after school (I'm 15) . Just be good, don't give any lip, do a couple chores , pay for it yourself and hopefully you'll be allowed to have a belly piercing!
