I have a 3 year old who was always turning on the back reading lights. Then the next morning I would come out to a dead battery. I just removed the bulbs for a short term fix and will replace them when she gets older.

To disable the running lights either unplug the relay to the fuse box. Also there is a fuse for this in the fuse box remove this and that will disable the lights.

I believe there should be a photo sensor on the top of the dash, normally on the passenger side. I had the same problem with my Chevy Tracker lights. I lifted the sensor cover and unplugged it then put the cover back on.
