How can you disable the automatic door locks on a 2000 Plymouth Neon?
Yank the fuse for that circuit.
ok ...without disabling the electric locks.
You can go to your local Dodge dealership and they can change that setting. Some dealers will do it once at no charge, but I would expect a $30 charge to be the norm. I hated that the doors locked after hitting the pre-set speed. My kids are old enough now that I didn't need that feature. It is a child-safety feature. My dealer charged me $20 Canadian to do it.
This is part of the security sytem of the kia. Its connnected to the alarm system. If you wish to prevent this you can disconnect the automatic locks or just pull the fuse from the alarm box. Hence you will also disable the alarm. When the car is started it senses the electrical difference and assumes that you are in the car. Then the alarm box locks the doors.
Check the owners manual in the section where it describes the automatic locks. For example, in the 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 users manual it indicates the automatic locks can be disabled by turning the ignition key on/off 4 times (do not start the vehicle), leave the ignition in the on position and move the lock switch in the unlock direction. You will hear an audible beep that indicates the automatic lock function has been disabled…
How do you reprogram the Automatic locking and unlocking on a 2000 Toyota Avalon The car automatically locks when put in Drive but only the driver door unlocks when going to park and want all unlock?
Can someone help with a 2000 cougar V6 broke fob and door locks will not turn alarm goes off but car will start how do you disable alarm?
well, you can pull the fuse. its number 25, its yellow, and its under the drivers dash. but that will negate the power locks as well. i know that if you have locked your car with the keys, and then unlock it manually, or from inside the car, it will set the alarm off. other than that, you most likely will have to have the system removed. i have been told its persnickety.
