Usually, guardian angels don't tell you their names- or they see no need to. When I was younger, I simply named my guardian angel "Gootch", and he accepted this name as his own, never questioning it or telling me the name he yielded in his previous lifetime. He might not even have had one. I can't speak for every guardian angel, for my views of them are extremely limited; even to my own. When I went to see a reader a couple of years ago, she explained his physical appearance exactly as I saw him, but she never told me his name. When the session was over, I asked her quickly what his name was, and her response was something along the lines of "What do you usually call him?"

I think names may be unimportant to angels, and are only important to them if a name is important to you. Otherwise, I don't think they have a reason to be named. If you believe in your angel, don't question whether they are male or female, or their name. Sometimes you just know, but you make it harder on yourself by thinking that you don't.

In Addition:

The Catholic Church strongly discourages people from naming their Guardian Angels. We name our children, we name our pets, perhaps our car or other possession. When we name something, we claim ownership. We do not own our Guardian Angels.

Great question! :)

The existence of angels is a truth of faith that is attested to by Sacred Scripture and the life of the Church. (cf. CCC 328-336) Perhaps one of the most familiar passages that indicates the existence and role of guardian angels is in the Book of Psalms: For God commands the angels to guard you in all your ways. (Ps 91:11 NAB)

In terms of angels, the Church teaches that from infancy to death human life is surrounded by their watchful care and intercession (CCC 336), and that beside each believer stands an angel as protector and shepherd leading him to life. (St. Basil, Adv. Eunomium III, I: PG 29, 656B.)

However, the Church does not encourage us to learn the names of our guardian angels:

Popular devotion to the Holy Angels, which is legitimate and good, can, however, also give rise to possible deviations:

  • when, as sometimes can happen, the faithful are taken by the idea that the world is subject to demiurgical struggles, or an incessant battle between good and evil spirits, or Angels and daemons, in which man is left at the mercy of superior forces and over which he is helpless; such cosmologies bear little relation to the true Gospel vision of the struggle to overcome the Devil, which requires moral commitment, a fundamental option for the Gospel, humility and prayer;
  • when the daily events of life, which have nothing or little to do with our progressive maturing on the journey towards Christ are read schematically or simplistically, indeed childishly, so as to ascribe all setbacks to the Devil and all success to the Guardian Angels. The practice of assigning names to the Holy Angels should be discouraged, except in the cases of Gabriel, Raphael and Michael whose names are contained in Holy Scripture. (Directory On Popular Piety and the Liturgy, no. 217)

That is, just as it was not necessary for Jacob to know the name of the divine being with whom he struggled to receive his blessing, neither is it necessary for us to know the names of our guardian angels to implore their assistance; cf.

"You shall no longer be spoken of as Jacob, but as Israel, because you have contended with divine and human beings and have prevailed." Jacob then asked him, "Do tell me your name, please." He answered, "Why should you want to know my name?" With that, he bade him farewell. Jacob named the place Peniel, "Because I have seen God face to face," he said, "yet my life has been spared." Gn 32:29-31 NAB

By accepting the limitations of our knowledge into divine realities such as whether guardian angels have names or what they might be, we are able better to grow in the virtue of humility:

For the power of the Lord is great, and hee is honoured of the lowly. Seeke not out the things that are too hard for thee, neither search the things that are above thy strength. But what is commaunded thee, thinke thereupon with reverence, for it is not needfull for thee, to see with thine eyes, the things that are in secret. Be not curious in unnecessarie matters... (Sirach 3:20-23, 1611 KJV)

Your Guardian Angel is a pure spirit, while you are alive in this body, you do not have the capability of knowing who your guardian angel is, but he has been with you every instant of your life since you were conceived. The moment you quit the body, you will instantly recognize him.

Guardian angel of Saturday?

We know that every single human being has a Guardian Angel assigned to them the instant they are conceived. We know the names of two Guardian Angels, Raphael and Gabriel, because they are in the Bible. And we know from private Revelation that God assigns groups of people a special Guardian Angel, as at Fatima, the angel revealed that he was the Guardian Angel of Portugal. Outside of that, I don't know if God assigns angels for things like days of the week.

Guardian angels have no patron saint because they are, in a sense, patrons themselves.

Your birthday is December 17 1987 who is your guardian angel?

God created more angels than we will ever be able to count, and we only know the names of the three Guardian Angels in the Bible. Other than those, every single human being has a Guardian Angel appointed to them by God the instant they are conceived in their mother's womb, who stays with us throughout our lives, but we will not know their name until the day we die.

How do you see your guardian angels?

You see your guardian angel when you die. Guardian Angels are pure spirits, thus we cannot "see" them when we are still in our physical bodies.
