Whenever I want a good nights sleep, I drink a cup of warm (not too hot!) milk like 15 minutes before going to bed. I've heard about it somewhere, tried it, and it worked! I even tend to dream more now.

- Make your bed as comfortable for yourself as you can

- Have a nice, comfortable pillow that is just right for you

- Do not eat or exercise right before bed, let yourself ease into relaxation and don't get yourself too exited

- Listen to soft, Classical Music before or during your sleep (be sure you like it, though)

- Make your room (or place you seep) as dark as you can so the light does not wake you

- Keep your room (if you can) at a cool temperature so you do not overheat or freeze during the night - this would wake you up, no doubt

- Burn some incense in your room (but only if you like it and it is calming)

- Have a warm bath before bed, try to avoid showers as they often make you feel awake and refreshed

- If you like, meditate before bed: block out distractions, close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing for about ten minutes

- Try to relax and let go as much as possible before you sleep; you should be calm, not stressed, if you want a good nights sleep

The most common reason for not sleeping very well is the pillow or bed. Often, when people a positioned comfortably in bed where they are supported in the right places, they get a better sleep then they would normally.
