You're probably better off taking the plant outside and throwing it into the compost: gnats and other bugs can be gotten rid of with a variety of insecticides or "soaps" for sale at any hardware or garden store, but compare the cost of that to the cost of a new plant. You want to avoid the gnats spreading inside, too, which is another good reason to be rid of the plant.
You can repot the plant into clean soil and watch the amount of water the plant is given in the future...you can use any water based insecticide and even diluted down and water the plant with this solution, making sure all the surface is wet.

Drop some granyules on them or soak soil with an insecticide concentrate or dry out the soil to kill off the gnats. It is generally only present if they are overwatered.

from what i was told the same thing that work inside to get rid of them is the same thing that will get rid of those outside which is the vinegar and liquid soap in a container with a cover plastic wrap or a lid with holes in it, i have some that fly around outside my door i am going to try it and see if it works good luck to you.

Vinegar won't get rid of them, only trap some adults keeping them down. If you have small flies breeding indoors it is keyed to moisture- leak in a wall, overwatered plants, drains, etc. Find that source and dry it out and they will die out. If it's fungus gnats from a plant, Take it outside.
