Salt water pools
They are one and the same. THEY BOTH ARE CHLORINE POOLS!!!
Stop adding salt to the pool and use tablets and shock when needed.
A Salt water pool is a chlorine pool. The difference is that in the case of a saltwater pool there is a chlorinater fited inline that converts the salt into chlorine automaticaly, Meaning that you don't have to purchace any chlorine to keep up chlorine levels.
You have a penny in both types of pools ... ???
Many people are choosing to remodel their swimming pool systems to add saltwater chlorination. With a saltwater pool system, a chlorine generator is added to the pool's filtration system. The water circulates through the chlorinator, where salt produces a chlorine gas that dissolves into the water. That chlorine in turn, breaks down and turns into salt, cycling the process all over again.
No you will not have a salt water pool. yes you will have salt water but the actual electronic plates found in a genrator converts the salt in the water to chlorine to sanitize the pool water. A: You have to have the mechanical device to produce the chlorine in a salt pool. THE SALT A MEANS TO PRODUCE CHLORINE FOR YOUR POOL!
It is most likely the chlorine in the pool that fades colours of textiles. Perhaps the amount of chlorine being produced by the saltwater chlorinator is too high. If this is the case adjusting it down will make the pool more comfortable to swim in as well. take a sample of water to a pool shop for testing.
If you look at it from the point of view of economy then its a matter of weighing out the difference in the expense of running the chlorine generator long enough to produce the required chlorine. or the cost of the extra chlorine. Often when saltwater chlorinators are installed they are under size to make the sale easier. so a third option is to install a larger chlorine generator. Theoretically you shouldn't have to boost the chlorine at all.
