meredians on a globe are number starting with prime meridian at greenwich which is marked as 0.meridians are drawn at an interval of 1.there are 180 meridians towards the east and 180 towards the west of the prime meridian.the meridian which are towards the east are marked as e and the meridians towards the west are marked as w.thus there are 360 meridians

That's exactly the same as asking "What is the total number of lengths on the ruler ?"
There are 360 degrees of longitude around the globe. Every longitude can be marked
with its own meridian. How many different numbers can you write that are between
zero and 360 ? (Don't forget the fractions and decimals of each degree.)
I have a globe with no meridians at all printed on it, and a mapping software
package that will draw 648,000 meridians of longitude on the screen if I need
them for some reason. (I have never been that desperate yet.)
A meridian is a line of longitude so there are as many meridians as drawn on a given map. Some maps draw a line of longitude every 10 degrees and others every 15 degrees so depends on the map. There is no real limit to how many meridians there are. If for example you're zooming into more detail on an interactive map then you can keep sub-dividing the grid and draw another meridian.
The key meridians are the prime meridian at 0 degrees and 180th meridian (or anti-meridian) at 180 degrees east of west of the prime meridian.
The Prime Meridian is the zero line of longitude. It runs from the North Pole to The South Pole passing through the Royal Greenwich Observatory, Greenwich, London, England.
If you find London on a map, you should be able to see the Prime Meridian (provided lines of Latitude and longitude happen to be printed on your map, of course.

Yes.
Meridians are not parallel. They join at the poles. Parallels of latitude is a common phrase. Meridians of longitude look parallel on the the map, but they're not on the globe.

360 meridians in a Globe. -Tomi Jade
Meridians Meridians ;p
Meridians on a globe get closer and eventually merge at the North and South Poles. On a map (a flat plane) the meridians are drawn parallel and there is distortion at the poles, most noticeable on a world map.
meridians or lines of longitude

On a Mercator map the Meridians (vertical lines of Latitude) are straight lines at right angles to the lines of Longitude.
The Meridians are lined in a pattern on the Mercator. They are all parallel to each other and converge at the poles when viewed on a globe.

Earth can be divided into an infinite number of meridians, but only one of them is prime, which means most important or number one. The Prime Meridian is 0° longitude. The complete set of meridians covers a total of 360°, which is evenly divisible by 30.
Meridians are not parallel. Apart from that, what is the question?
Those are meridians of constant longitude.
