∙ 15y agoFirst aid and CPR are mostly muscle memory, that's why the classes all involve a lot of repitition and repitition. Just encourage the person to attend a basic community level class (American Heart Association's "HeartSaver First Aid/CPR" for instance), because there is no actual requirement for reading a book beforehand or a written test. Good luck! The more people that know first aid, often times means less dependance on first responders.

∙ 14y agoPictograms [posters] and show and tell. The basics of Stop.Drop,and Roll can be demonstrated. Also CPR using fingers to count. Direct pressure for bleeding. Keeping people warm and elevating feet and head down for shock.Cold water on burns. NO butter or oil. Show cold water,nod yes. Show butter or oil, shake head and frown. Act things out. Let everybody have a turn at everything. reinforce periodically.And start teaching alphabet and phonetic reading.Good Luck and blessings.
