Once you've connected your iPod to the computer click on your iPods name on the left hand side. A picture of an iPod should show up and a the selected tab at the top should say 'Summary'. At the bottom of the page there will be a section that says 'Options'. On one of the boxes it will say 'Manually Manage Music', click that box so that a check mark shows up. Press the Apple button and let it sync. When you go to your friend's library all you have to do is drag the songs you want to your iPod. Next to your iPods name two arrows will appear that go in circles and you're done.
I am sorry friend, but that can not happen. During the syncing process, everything on your iPod is erased and replaced with everything in your iTunes. You could try burning your friend a CD though.
UNLESS: you go into iTunes and select "manually manage songs and videos" on YOUR computer before you connect to your friends computer. When you connect to your friends computer you must manually drag and drop the songs you want to your iPod.
You can use a streaming audio recorder to get songs from your friend iTunes. For example, TunesKit Audio Capture can help you record any songs or audios from iTunes, then you can import those songs to your iPod for listening.
You can only put songs that you have purchased onto your iPod. It is illegal to take songs that you have not purchased.
