It is best to use the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall Norton SystemWorks. See related links below.
.fbf files are created by Norton Save & Restore. According to a Norton tech, you can only restore Save & Restore backups using Save & Restore. Norton Ghost or Norton 360 will not restore such backups because they use different file formats. Norton SystemWorks Premier Edition 12.0 for $100 is the only current Norton product I can see that includes Norton Save & Restore. See https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton/systemworks-premier. Or you can by Norton Save & Restore 2.0 by itself for $50. See https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton/save-restore. Or maybe you have an old copy of Norton SystemWorks that has Save & Restore. I'm using Save & Restore 1.0 from Norton SystemWorks 2006. By the way, a web search for ".fbf file extesnion" turns up lots of references to Free Backup Fix Backup File by Promosof. I don't think there's any connection to Norton Save & Restore. See http://www.fixpcproblems.com/freebackupfix.htm and http://www.promosoftcorp.com/purchase.htm.
I would "tune up" a PC by doing the following: # Run disk clean up. # Run disk defragmenter. # Remove unnecessary drivers. # Remove unused programs. # Install, update and run Spybot Search and Destroy. # Install Norton System works and run Disk doctor and Win doctor. # I'd run Norton Performance test from the Systemworks CD . If the results were not pretty I'd consider a Ram and/or hard drive upgrade.
One can learn how to remove the Norton Anit Virus thoroughly by going on the support section of the Norton website. One can also go on a blog called Ask Dave Taylor where he gives a tutorial on how to completely remove the Norton products.
I really need to know how to turn this off.
Get a good antivirus such as Norton 360, restart your computer, do a scan to further minimize crashes get norton systemworks and do an error check
Norton removal tool is developed by Symantec and is designed to completely remove Norton software if you have not been able to properly uninstall it using the actual Norton program. It is available for dowload from sites such Softpedia and CNET and is free to use.
I assume you are wanting to uninstall Norton. I suggest you get the Norton Removal Tool. Norton imbeds itself in your system and is not easy to remove with the tool. I will post a link to the tool.
Go to the norton program and then move it to your desktop and delete it and then empty the recycle bin. Or you can just remove one thing so good luck.
If you uninstalled Norton correctly, Norton 360 should no longer be there, check in the add/remove programs to make sure norton is gone, if so, contact the Norton customer service to remove norton 360.
Why do you hate it? If you want it off you can turn off its firewall if you go to the firewall section. Or you have a place where you can add or remove programs. You want to get to that part. Then you remove Norton. If you have the box that Norton came in, you will discover that the name of the company that sold Norton, is not norton but the Symantic Corporation. That may be what you need to find.
we can remove it through registered norton antivirus & macfee antivirus. thank you
