a treatment i have found to work is to buy some 1001 detergent foam spay and spray the effected area then, next wet a sponge or flannel and scrub off the 1001 after leaving it for the mininmum guidlines.

You could bleach it.
Usually any stain removal will remove it whether it's specifically for pet stains or not.
Steam clean. The urine is sterile so there shouldn't be any health hazard, but steam cleaning should remove the unsightly stain.
Rinse the fabric in cold water. Pretreat it if the stains are very bad. Then wash it in a cold water cycle.
