I have a 2005 Spectra...I have been told they are the same with removal of the radio.
First, remove the two screws located in the plastic trim, just above the clear lens of the speedometer assembly. These two screws are the only things holding the plastic in that goes all the way around the stereo and climate controls. Carefully insert a flat tool (flathead screwdriver) between the trim surrounding the radio and dashboard. The trim will easily pop off. Be careful not to break any of the spring action clips that hold the trim snug to the dash. Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the radio from the mount you see, four screws in all. The radio slides out from behind the trim and you unplug two wires and the wiring harness. There's a little tab on the top of the harness that needs to be depressed. Once it's pushed in, this should slide right out and you are ready for a new stereo.
i am afraid you will need a special tool, go to say hi-fi buys, circuit city, anyone who installs next generation radios and systems in autos. They should be able to help you out. Also RAdio Shack USED to sell them, but not sure now. Remember if you have a anti-tampering radio that you want to pur back in, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE PASS CODE when you want to re-install it.Otherwise it will look real pretty but either won't play or play for 15 minutes and then shut off and ask for passcode.
To remove the radio the whole face (I mean the whole center part is one big piece) comes off, if you have the fake wood. there will be 2 screws that need to come out before the face will come off. You will have to get a small flat blade screwdriver and pry up the center part that goes around the shifter. once you have that off you will see the 2 screws. Put your shifter in the lowest gear to have clearance to pull out the center section. Once you have the done it's just 4 screws and the radio is out.
Drop the steering wheel to the lowest it can go. take the black cover on the top of the steering wheel mount off. Right above it are 2 screws. Take em out, and grab a butterknife. Ply around the AC and all around the radio. You can see the whole template connects from the cruise control from the left side of the driver all the way down and ends where the ashtray starts. Once you have pulled in off from the dash, don't pull too hard because everything is still connected. Just take out the all the wires connected in the radio area don't worry about the wires closer to the steering wheel. Finally unscrew the mounting kit on the radio and pull it out. it will be a tight squeeze but this is an easier way.
what you need to do is remove the panel which you will just have to pull its on by clips. The radio is screwed on so youll need a phillp to remove it.

Kia sportage is small and good suv.
it is part of your owners manual,if you have lost yours check with e-bay or local junk yard.
I am 99% sure this can only be done by the manufactures of the vehicle try taking it down to a local dealer.
anytime the radio loses power the code given to you at time of purchase will need to be entered to restore the radio. Or it could also be the alarm system. I had the same problem. I had to buy a new radio (CD player) worked perfect afterwards.
try googling it, otherwise you have to take radio out, get serial number off it and visit your local Kia dealer and they can look it up for you.
