There is a special kind of test that can be used to identify whether proteins are present in any food or not.

The presence of proteins in a food can be tested using Biuret solution, which is a mixture of sodium hydroxide solution and small amount of copper sulphate solution. A change to violet color will be observed if proteins are present in that food.

Buriet tests can be used to test for protein in different food samples.

You can add 2ml of the protein solution, 1ml of potassium solution, and 3 drops of copper sulphate to a test tube and shake it. If it turns purple, protein is presnt in the sample.
