Of course you should have clean tissues available to catch any of the dripping blood. (blood stains clothes)
Get a tissue box and put it by ur side (you will need it)
Pinch the cartiledge of ur nose (the middle part it kinda feels hard) from whatever nostril the blood is coming from. Pinch the nostril(s) so it is closed.(for about 5-10 minutes depending on how bad it is) Slightly tilt back but not so they blood goes down ur throat)
Avoid tilting ur head back because the blood drips down ur throat and trust me, IT'S NOT a good feeling.
BREATH! think calm thoughts, don't panic. Even if u hate blood don't panic because IT'S ALWAYS INSIDE OF UR BODY EVEN IF U DON'T KNOW IT!
* IF IT LASTS LONGER THAN 20 MINUTES CALL A DOCTOR! (If it goes too long u could loose too much blood)

∙ 14y agoPinch the bridge of your nose and tilt your head back and lie down on a couch or recliner, not allowing the blood to flow out and drip. Keep a tissue in both nostrils (or dab when necessary with your own hands at will) and when you feel the bleeding stop, you can stand up now.
If your nose bleed gets worse than you need to tell a docter. This could be due to a blow to the head or possibly a high fever.

- If your nose bleeds,
- Sit down and lean forward
- Using your thumb & index finger, squeeze soft part of nose
- This part is between end of nose and the bridge of nose
- Continue holding till bleeding stops-
- Do not stop in-between
- If bleeding continues, hold for another 10 minutes
- If the patient is a child, divert attention by TV/Stories
- Avoid picking, blowing or rubbing nose for 2 days
- Place an ice pack on the bridge of nose
Consult a doctor if...
- The bleeding continues for more than 15 minutes
- The bleeding is caused by an injury
- You get nosebleeds often
Prevention
- Keep fingernails short
- Quit smoking
- Open your mouth while sneezing
- Use a humidifier at night in case of dry weather
