It would be hard to get into gear and would make grinding noises when shifting.
you need to call mitsubishi(1-888-mitsu2007) and give them the stereo model number and serial number along with your vin. they will then tell you your code. i bought an eclipse and i had to do the same thing
go to autozone or other parts store and buy a haynes auto manual for your specific model it should tell you how to remove it.
