How can you tell if raw chicken is still good to use?
By the smell, by the looks, if it has turned a green it is no good or if it has white dots on it ,no good.If it is very slimey it is no good. (Raw chicken is wet and slippery but not snotty slimey).
If it smells bad. Cook it and it will still smell badCats Ike it anyway! But I do cook it first for them.
That would not be a good idea. If you start the chicken first and get it almost completely cooked and then add the shrimp, you would be okay. If you start them at the same time, the shrimp will be terrible overdone and rubbery. If you pull the shrimp out as soon as it is done, it will be contaminated by the still raw chicken.
The best way to tell if a raw chook / chicken egg is off is to place it in water. If it is off, it will float. If it is good, it will sink entirely. If it is old, but still edible, it will position vertically in the water, with its blunt end up but its pointier end touching the base of the bowl of water.
