According to Christianity, you have the Holy Spirit if you are a Christian. In Mark 1:8, John the Baptist says that Jesus gives us the Spirit. And in Acts chapter 2, the followers of the Lord (a.k.a. "Christians") received the Holy Spirit from heaven. This is symbolic of when the Spirit comes to us when we accept Christ into our lives as our Savior.

Some Christians believe that the Holy Spirit enables us to speak in tongues. Many believe that the Spirit acts like our conscience or is our conscience. But all Christians should believe that the Holy Spirit (a.k.a. Holy Ghost) is a person of the trinity who comes to be with us, either inside us or with us, when we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior.

The Holy Spirit is, has been, and will always be within us all. We sometimes lose sight with all the worldly distractions. We become so involved with this world that we eventually feel as though it is not amongst us but the truth is our minds have become sort of dissconnected from our hearts and as such we feel lost or alone.

When does the holy spirit enter into a person?

The answer to this question is unknown since it is not written specifically in the Bible. The Bible mentions the Holy Spirit but not specifically when we receive it. In Psalm David asks God not to take the Holy Spirit away from him, which means David had The Holy Spirit and was afraid God would take it away. In the New Testament Jesus says to his disciples that He is leaving but will send a 'Helper', this is considered to be the Holy Spirit. Pentecost is about the Disciples receiving The Holy Spirit. So, although the Bible talks about The Holy Spirit, it does not tell us when we receive or why.

How has the Holy Spirit guided you in your character formation?

A:If I look at two people of good character, I can not tell which one is a Christian and has been guided by the Holy Spirit and which one is an atheist. They have achieved good character either with the Holy Spirit or without. If I look at two people of disreputable character, I can not tell which one is a Christian and could have been guided by the Holy Spirit and which one is an atheist. One has character flaws in spite of the best efforts of the Holy Spirit. The other simply has character flaws.Whatever people judge my character to be (and I trust them to be charitable in their assessments) I have never been guided by the Holy Spirit.

Why is Holy Spirit referred to as He in the bible?

Christians believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity. God the Father, and God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This would make the Holy Spirit a He. Through out Scripture the attributes of God and a real person are attributed to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a He and not an it.
