Set the motor to TDC, pull the #1 spark plug, put a small wooden dowl rod in the cylinder, rotate the engine and measure the stroke. 3.25" = 327, 3.48" = 350
Very hard to tell without pulling a head and measuring the stroke, but there are some signs that might help. If the factory intake has an oil filler tube and there are no bolt holes in the ends of the heads, it's probably a 327.
the biggest difference is obviously the stroke and bore of the engine and the size of the engine
Look at your harmonic balancer the 1 on the 350 is bigger than the 1 on the 327.
Locate and copy the engine numbers on the machined pad on the front of the engine just below the passengers side cylinder head. Re-post your findings and we will tell you what you have.
easiest method is to pull the head and measuure the bore and check with the local machinist
How can I identify if my engine is a 350 or 327? Engine block casting # 3970010 Vin stamped code 18l611487 thnaks, Julio Zamago 3970010 shows up on both 1968 327's and 1969-79 350's could be either originally. without disassembly no way to really know for sure.
If there is no sticker present, there is no way unless you take it apart
NO. It is a 325 cubic inch engine. Not a 327
Chevy still has NOT reproduced the 327 CID engine. It is NOT used anymore. Alot of people call the 5.3L smallblock chevy a 327 and it is NOT a 327. It is a 325 CID / Cubic inch desplacement engine and that is 2 cubic inches smaller then a 327 engine. That is NOT much but it still is not a 327
usually between 160 and 195 degrees.
What's the price range to rebuild a Chevy 327 engine
1962 was the first year for the 327.
