There are a variety of different ways you can stop your feet from sweating. Since there's not room to go through each and every one of them here, I'll just go through the most popular and interesting ones.

I'll start with the easiest thing you can do. Try applying a little antiperspirant to your feet. That's right, the same one that you probably apply already to your underarms. Make sure it says 'antiperspirant' on the label. Apply a thin layer over your whole foot, including the toes, balls of your feet, and everything in between. Do this with clean, dry feet before going to bed. After doing this for a week or two, if you don't notice any changes, start applying twice a day, once in the morning after your shower, and once at night before bed.

The second way you can stop foot sweating is with a simple visit to the doctor. When you tell the doctor you have a problem with foot sweating, they'll likely give you a prescription antiperspirant, like Drysol. These contain aluminum as their active ingredients. Aluminum is used in antiperspirants to plug sweat glands so that sweat doesn't escape. Most over-the-counter antiperspirants contain less than 10% aluminum. Drysol, or some other prescription antiperspirant that your doctor may give you will likely have a much higher concentration of aluminum. Apply as directed.

Another easy thing you can try to stop foot sweating is applying a medicated foot powder, like Gold Bond's, to your feet. Depending on where you live, you can probably find one of these in the grocery store, or a Wal-Mart. You can definitely get some online. Apply the foot powder to clean, dry feet 2-3 times a day, and definitely before bed. This should help.

A third thing that you could do is to get inserts in your shoes that absorb sweat. You can find these online and although they don't actually stop foot sweating, they at least absorb the sweat, and make it less uncomfortable.

These are the three things that I would try first if I were you. But if you do all three of those things, and you're still not able to stop the sweating, there are a variety of other things you can try. There are some people (about 2% of the population) that suffer from a disease known as 'Hyperhidrosis', which is uncontrollable, abnormal sweating.

There are websites and forums made for people with hyperhidrosis, and you may be interested in some of their solutions. One of the most interesting cures for excessive sweating that I've encountered is a mind-body approach. The theory is that sweating excessively is caused by an imbalance somewhere in your nervous system, and that by correcting this imbalance, the sweating disappears.

Scrub lemon on the affected area. You can also go to the doctor and do some sort of electorolysis. They call it ionostoeporosis.

Against sweaty feet: Wash your feet every day! And dry them properly. But the best way: Wear special Zederna Insoles made from cedar wood. After a few days the problems are gone. I use them, too.

Actually, it's not "medicine" that's best for sweaty feet, but there are a couple of things that really work great that you probably already have in your kitchen. They are: * Tea - brew some tea (a bit stronger than if you were going to drink it) and soak your feet in it for about 10 minutes a day. The tannic acid in the tea will dry the sweat glands in your feet, and reduce or even eliminate the sweating. You will notice some improvement after the first time, and full benefit after about a week. This advice was given by Dr. Mehmet Oz, author of You, The Owner's Manual. * You can also soak your feet in warm salt water, or spray your feet with a mineral salt solution, available at many stores, including health food stores. The salt is a natural drying agent, but also has natural antibiotic agents, which will also help reduce odor since bacteria is what causes the odor in sweaty feet (and underarms). With both of the above solutions, you won't even have to do this on a long term basis. Once you get the sweating under control, then you can cut down to doing it only once or twice a week, or even less.
