To turn off the ABS light (without diagnosing and fixing the problem)Solution 1Remove the bulb from the dash board (requires pulling dash board out). Solution 2Unplug the sensor from the side of the brake fluid reservoir under the hood.

It could be a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem with the antilock brake system ( as long as the red " brake " light in your dash is not on you still have " normal " braking )

A problem has been detected with the Antilock Brake System It could be a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem As long as the red " BRAKE " light is not on in your dash you still have " normal " brakes ( it's just that the Antilock Brake System feature is not working )

antilock brakes could lock up on any vehicle for various reasons. for ex, a wheel sensor/trigger wheel is dirty(mud) and the sensor can pick up the signal, the computer will not activate the antilock feature.if the antilock light is lighted on the dash the wheels will lock.

frist the brake light looks like its on but its just the glow of the antilock light it is very bright. the antilock is on your rear axle needs replaceing.

Antilock Brake Light comes on and stays on when the ABS computer detects some problem with the antilock brakesystem components. You will still have normal brake use, but the Antilock system will probably not work as an Antilock brake system is supposed to work. ABS system diagnostic code readers are available and are recommended for diagnostic purposes, however fixing ABS systems is perhaps best left up to the Pros. . .

If the ABS (antilock brake system) light stays on, there is a problem with the system and it will not function should you need it in a panic situation. Have a mechanic repair it soon for your safety.

A problem has been detected with the Antilock Brake System : It could be a fuse ( blown or in my case not installed all the way ) A sensor , or some other problem As long as the red " BRAKE " light in your dash is not on , you still have " normal " brakes

User Avatar

It is on because there is a problem with the Antilock Brake System (ABS).

User Avatar

NO, but it would be a good idea to have your Antilock Brake System checked.

The Antilock Brake System or ABS light stays on in a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder because there is a problem with the brakes. The brakes are either low on fluid or they need to be changed or adjusted.

User Avatar

If your ABS light stays on you have a problem with the ABS and it is not functioning. Until the problem is fixed the light will remain on.

The antilock system has detected a malfunction.

As long as the red " BRAKE " light in your dash is not on , you still have " normal " brakes , so the answer would be ( YES ) A problem with the Antilock Brake System has been detected , it could be a fuse , a sensor , or some other problem , so the antilock brake system feature does not work * in my case , the ABS warning light came on , and the first ABS fuse that I checked was not installed all the way . I touched the fuse with my finger , heard a " click " , and the ABS light went out ( just lucky I guess , but also suspicious of how that could have happened )

The antilock brake system has a problem. The light will remain until it is fixed. The abs will not function when light is on. Take it to your mechanic soon.

Bring to a shop that has an ABS scanner to determine the problem

User Avatar

abs stands for antilock brake system. If the light is on, you have probably got a problem with one of your wheel speed sensors.

User Avatar

It means the ABS (Antilock Brake System) has a problem and is not in working order. Until the problem is fixed the light will remain on.

User Avatar

The abs light stays on when a malfunction has been detected in the antilock braking system. The abs computer will have stored fault codes.
