Look on the bottom right side of the dash. You'll see a rotary dial beside the switch for the heated mirrors. Simply turn the dial up for more illumination, down for less. The 2004 XL7 has a vacuum fluorescent display that is also automatically controlled by the light sensor on the dash board when the headlights come on in the auto mode. The dash will be full illumination but will automatically adjust to your setting as the light decreases outside. If you've turned them on manually, it will automatically use the setting from the rotary dial.

The best and fastest way to reset the instrument panel of 2004 Trailblazer is to disconnect both battery terminals. Reconnect them after about 30 minutes and everything should be reset.
