∙ 14y agoTurtles, like many other animals, lay so many eggs at one time for many reasons. For example, not all turtles make it out of the egg; some never hatch. The biggest reason, however, is because baby turtles are slow and small, and are often eaten by birds and large carnivorous fish. Unfortunately for the cute baby turtles, most of them get eaten up!
