Snorkel diving depth is limited only by however long you can hold your breath.

More accurately, it is limited by half the time you can hold your breath, as it would be inadvisable to dive to the depth of your limit.

However(!) Some divers 'cheat the system' by carrying a heavy stone for ballast, to reach the bottom more quickly. This increases their depth range by shortening the time it takes to get there. But beware! Nitrogen narcosis PLUS 'the bends' await the unwary diver...

Snorkeling is only done at the surface. But if you hold your breath, you can dive down as deep as you want.
