Comets are dangerous because, they are pulled by gravity and when they hit the surface of a planet the force pushes it down and if you were in the way of the comet you would surely be dead. i hope that answered you question Ireland92109

A comet that hits the Earth would be as destructive as many nuclear bombs, depending on how big it was and where it hit.
It is likely that a giant comet or asteroid hit the Earth (near Mexico) 65 million years ago, resulting on the extinction of the dinosaurs and 90% of all land life on Earth.
