Since the Second World War, Australia has been accepting more and more migrants. As such, the society has changed from being almost completely Anglo-Celtic to one which embraces other cultures. White Europeans were allowed in shortly after the war and when the 'White Australia Policy' was abolished in 1973, it brought an influx of Asian immigrants whom today make up around 10% of the population.
