Feathertail died in the mountains, killed by falling after killing sharptooth, a mountain lion killing the tribes cats. Crowfeather loved Feathertail by the way! she was part of the prophecy of the tribe of rushing water.

(New Dude) Feathertail died by Sharptooth, because she leaped onto a staclamite and it fell on Sharptooth, crush him and Feathertail. She did it for her love, Crowfeather, a foolish sacrifice to me.

Feathertail died a a very brave death, by saving her one true love; Crowpaw. She and her brother Stormfur her up on a high ledge close to the roof of the cave, as she was starting to worrying that she will never see her true love again. And then she hears very faint voices in her head. She tells Stormfur she loves him and says "I can them clearly now, this is for me to do." And then she jumps onto a staclamite and it breaks under her weight and it drops and Feathertail lets go and then right where Sharptooth was standing the sharp point does through Sharptooth and he dies. While Feathertail hits the ground she is dying and Crowpaw and Stormfur race to her side and she says "You'll have to go home without me, brother. Save the Clan!" then she says to Crowpaw"Think you have nine lives do you?" She whispered. "I saved you once.... Don't make me do it again." As Crowpaw begged her not to leave Stormfur scents another cat, and sees the outline of his mother; Silverstream. Then as Feathertail says that she won't Stormfur could barely hear her. Then her eyes close and she says that she shall always be with them forever and ever. Then she goes to hunt with her mother in StarClan. LET US MOURN FOR A GREAT LOSS...died in a happy and sad way!

She died from a rockfall she created to save Crowpaw from Sharptooth in the book Moonrise, the second book in the New Prophecy series. When she saw Crowpaw cornered by Sharptooth, she said that she heard voices speaking to her clearly now. She then leaped for the ceiling of the cave and held onto a shard of rock. The rock dropped under her own weight. The rock stabbed into Sharptooth, but she fell onto the ground. She later died. Silverstream, Feathertail's mother, then came to guide her daughter into StarClan.

she died saving the tribe of rushing water from a mountain lion who was been killing the cats, she got up on a cliff to push a boulder on the lion but when she pushed the giant rock she went over the cliff also, the lion died and so did she, the tribe was greatful for what she did and buried her near the waterfall.
