What motivated Genghis Khan to unite all the mongols?

Dividing his army into 3 he lead one, his knight like elite generals one, his 4 sons the other. He took central route, generals north, and sons south. His generals had conquered much of Russia and surrounding nations in the way, and so did other armies. It took a year to reach Persia so they had done allot in the way. Persians were shocked because Mongols came 6 months before they thought. Ofcourse Persia was totally annihalated. From then on Mongols were feared by the whole world. Ghengis's Mongol name is Chinggis, and khan mean king its mongol pronoucuation is khaan. From then on next generation mongol kings easily picked off surrounding nations like Korea, Bulgaria, Poland and etc. Finally the reason why Mongol empire declined was because the land and subjects were too much. Only 1 million Mongols existed at the time of Ghengis, but 100 million subjects. And the land is so immense so you cant really control it without today's communication system.
