Hitler became head of state in 1934 completing his total domination of the German political system. The old German President Paul Hindenburg died in 1934, he was considered Hitlers single barrier to total domination. Paul Hindenburg originally opposed Hitler becoming chancellor and famously said after the general election; "Make that man chancellor, I'll make him postmaster and he can lick stamps with my head on them"
After ww1, the German people and government where very depressed and humiliated. Germany later resulted into an economic depression. Hitler started a Nationalistic group and made speeches all around Germany about how he could bring them back to power. The Germans and their govt. turned to Dictatorship an put Hitler in charge
The leader is Adolf Hitler. He had been head of state since 1934.
Yes. He had control of the law and was the chancellor(President or Head of State).
In 1933, Germany had BOTH a President (Head of State) and Chancellor (Head of Government). Hitler was the Chancellor, and Paul von Hindenburg was the President. With the death of Hindenburg in 1934, Hitler merged the two positions into one; the Fuhrer.
The takeover of Germany by Hitler was one of a kind because it was done legally by Von Hindenburg's appointment of Hitler to Chancellor. Later when President Von Hindenburg died in 1934, his office of President, meaning "head of State" was an election issue. Hitler, in 1934 ran for President and was elected. He then combined the office of Chancellor & President into one office. Chancellor meant head of the government, President meant Head of State. As President, Von Hindenburg could have removed Hitler from office. Failing to see that Hitler took over Germany legally creates false history.

Yes, Hitler was quite sane and in a perfect state of mental health. He did become slightly unstable in his last days, under the stress of losing the war.
He joined the Nazis party in 1925 and rose to become head of Adolf Hitler's SS. He was put in command of most German police units after 1933, taking charge of the Gestapo in 1934, and established the Third Reich's first concentration camp, at Dachau. He soon built the SS into a powerful network of state terror, and by 1936 he commanded all the Reich's police forces
