Art in Nazi Germany was supposed show people of the "aryan" race. It should be realistic according to traditional academic standards. There had to be no distortions or unrealistic colors. Preferably people should shown as heroic and working for the "homeland". Much like Soviet art. Avant-garde art was condemned as "entartet" (degenerate).
I've never heard of the type of art that Hitler liked, but he did rule Germany as a totalitarian state. In doing so, he used all forms of art to glorify himself and the way he ruled. So, art that made him look good?
