Imperialism has greatly affected the US economy. The United States has provided a wide range of products and services to all other countries around the world. Through this type of business the US has introduced the concept of democracy to these other countries allowing the United States to lead in major industries of all sorts.
imperialsim started when america helped Panama and Cuba get there freedom that was known as the spanish american war but then we said to panama that we helped you so you owe us then panama gave us the Panama Canal .well techinally they gave us that land that we used to built the canal and then we had access to the atlantic . Therefore we got money because we charged ships that pass by a few.imperilasim also had roosevelts quote" speak softly but carry a big stick" there were also alot of other things but you should go and research all the topics they will be under here ---->

In the 1890 the US was the worldÕs most productive economy. America has twice as much as Britain which was its closes competitor. But just because they had all of that the US still didnÕt have the best military or diplomatic power.
Imperialism has had an affect on all major nations such as the USA. Speaking specifically about the United States, recent acts of imperialism in the Middle East and in Afghanistan has put pressure on international terrorist organizations. The downside of this policy has been huge costs in order to fund the military requirements to do this.
In the distant past, USA dealings with Colombia with regard to creating Panama, resulting in the construction of the Panama Canal, caused bad results with countries in South America, but of course were good results for the rebels that sought independence from Colombia in order to create Panama. The control of this canal was a "positive" factor for the USA at the time. The USA, by treaty, does not now control the Panama Canal.
Perhaps a forgotten affect of US imperialism was the treaty that ended the Spanish American War of 1898-1900. Part of that treaty gave "independence" for Cuba, and gave control of the Spanish colony of the Philippines to the USA. In a certain sense there was no true gain in that and it worked as a failure as Imperial Japan had to by force remove the USA from the Philippines in Japan's WW2 conquests. It did however strengthen the resolve of the USA to regain the Philippines during WW2. It can be assuredly said that having the USA in control of the island was a better deal than having Japan control it.
