Islam came at a time when people started to worship things other than God and started to let go of the former religions.

A great angel called "Gabriel" came to "Muhammad" who was a 40 years old trader in the area now called Saudi Arabia. The message of ethics, morals and guidelines for life was communicated by "Gabriel" to "Muhammad" through the Qur'an (Islam's holy book) from "Gabriel" to Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Muhammad was a well mannered man who was loved by his community and known as "the honest and trustworthy" way before he received the message.
