When Jesus was taken away to be crucified he was beat very cruelly. They put a crown of thorns on his head, whipped him, made him carry the cross, divided up his clothes, and many other nasty things.
There are no records of Jesus in any Jewish historical texts from the period, the first indirect mention is of the early Christians who came decades later. This indicates that he wasn't a significant personality at the time he was supposed to have lived from the Jewish perspective.
Since Mark's Gospel was the first account written about the life of Jesus, it would if anything, be the best source of information about the interaction of Jesus with those around him. In this Gospel, Jesus called Gentiles 'dogs' and only agreed to help a Gentile woman when she humbly accepted that description; showed admiration for a poor woman who donated a little money, but approved of a woman anointing him with expensive oils rather than providing for the poor; told the people not to tell others about him, but then marvelled at their unbelief.
