How did Nationalism contribute to World War I?

Nationalism contributed to World War 1 because some nations

wanted to assert their country's power and dominance over

others.

European nations believed in their own cultural, economic, and

military supremacy and each country believed that, in the case of

war, their country would be victorious. Since the people believed

that their nations and governments were right and that their

military could win any conflict, little was done to reduce the

chance of war. Instead, each country tried to prove their power and

dominance.
