The same methods that you use to make yours.LOL. If you mean regalia or dance outfits, then we are talking about traditional clothing. There is a lot of leather in traditional clothing. In the old days things were done very differently to prepare leather. Unless there is some ceremonial or ritual reason to do things in the old way, outfits are made with modern tools and methods. Beads and leather are purchased at the local outlets and sewing awls, beading looms, needles and synthetic sinew and nylon threads are used.
Many aboriginals make their clothing out of hides that they get from either the animals they hunt or from fur trades.
Correction:
The indigenous people of Australia, or Aborigines, wore very little or nothing at all, even in cold regions such as Tasmania. In colder areas, they might wear kangaroo or possum skins, but mostly they covered themselves with ochre and animal fat.
The Aborigines did wear various kinds of personal ornaments such as arm and head bands, necklaces, and bracelets. These were usually made from shells, bones, animal teeth and claws, or bits of feather and fur.
Once European settlement began, the Aborigines had great delight in wearing the colourful clothes of the Europeans, with women often donning large, shapeless dresses made from colourful materials given to them by settlers.
Clothing came from the carefully softened and tanned hides of animals, particularly deer (buckskin). Animal sinew was used as thread; this material can be broken up into separate thin fibres which are hard and stiff when dry, but become supple when wet. Sinew also expands when wet and shrinks as it dries out. Women sewing clothing would keep a supply of sinew in their mouth to wet it - except for the ends, which remained very stiff and hard.
Using an awl of sharp bone (later iron obtained in trade), a series of holes were made in the pieces to be sewn, then the sinew was threaded through these holes. The stiff end of the sinew meant that no needle was required and as the damp sinew stitches dried out they shrank and tightened, creating a very secure and strong seam.
