The three different countries had different benefits or lack thereof from US Foreign Policy.
Vietnam: Vietnam suffered due to US action in supporting South Vietnam in the Second Indochinese War (called the Vietnam War in the USA and called the American War in Vietnam). The Second Indochinese War cost over 2 million Vietnamese lives, destroyed the Vietnamese economy and was an extension of the First Indochina War in the eyes of the Vietnamese. There wee numerous US soldiers who massacred Vietnamese civilians. Additionally, during the Second Indochinese War the United States used numerous defoliants (products to kill plants) in order to more effectively move through the dense Vietnamese jungles. A number of these defoliants (especially Agent Orange) caused mutations and diseases in both Vietnamese civilians, soldiers and US servicemen. A number of US servicemen have successfully sued for compensation for their injuries, but there have never been any reparations paid to Vietnam for this injustice. Further the isolation that Vietnam received from its previous Communist benefactors after the war combined with the isolation that US gave to Communist Vietnam to promote economic problems. However, Vietnam and the United States were able to have a rapprochement in the 1990s and Vietnam is increasingly looking to the United States to help preserve its independence from China.
South Korea:The US actively supported South Korea and led to its formation during the three-year-period from 1945-1948 when the regime was crystallizing. It also galvanized UN support and supplied most of the troops to help South Korea defend itself against North Korean aggression and attempted conquest. To this day, thousands of US soldiers patrol the border between the two Koreas to protect South Korea from any future military conflict. South Korea also has also relied on the US for economic support, the most recent evidence of which is the US-ROK Free Trade Agreement.
France: The US-France relationship is complex and long-standing. Prior to 1850, France rendered more assistance to the USA than the USA rendered to France, such as providing naval and infantry support in the American Revolution, fighting the British during the Napoleonic Wars (called the War of 1812 by Americans), and having a strong trading relationship. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the US became more advantageous to France, including the two World Wars where the US became the backbone of an alliance to prevent German Occupation of France (WWI) or undo German Occupation of France (WWII). Following the end of World War II, France was a recipient of Marshall Plan Funds allowing the country to rebuild after the war. France and the US coordinated military policies in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq (Persian Gulf War of 1990-1991), Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Libya. The two countries have remained strong allies and contributed to each others' economies, even if they may have a difficult relationship.
france
They didn't get involved because they had no motive to do so.
You've got it alittle reversed; "Before America's involvement in Vietnam it had been invaded and ruled..." by only 3 or 4 nations (not "all"); China, France, Japan.
summarize Vietnam history as a France colony and its struggle for independence
France colonized Vietnam.
i think france doesn't have to do anything with the vietnam war
France were involved because they are Britain's Friend.
Vietnam. NOT France.
France withdrew from Vietnam in 1954.
You mean "When did the Vietnam War start?" or "when did Vietnam the country begin" The Vietnam War officially started in the early 1950s, when France refused to give independence to French Indochina (Vietnam, Laos,Cambodia). The French surrendered in 1954, and Vietnam gained independence as two separate countries in 1955. The US involvement lasted from 1957 until 1975. Modern day Vietnam was founded in 1976.
The United States got in involved with Vietnam in the 1950's when France pulled out. Eisenhower signed agreements that the United States would provide help. When JKF became president he put military advisers into Vietnam. After his death Johnson added troops and in 1968 the largest draft in US history. Nixon put troops in Laos and did bombing raids extending the war . In 1974 peace was signed and American troops were removed.
