They always watched out for their masters running after them. If their masters ran after them, they would hide in a tree or tunnel to throw off their sent because masters have very stron nostrils which whip up the slaves anxiety of being free. This is truly coming from my heart. I, Brynn Alexandra Janet have been a slave before and Im not afraid to admit it. I love everyone still.
The only time they were treated harshley was when they didnt listen. If it was up to me I would have sent all them monkeys back to Africa when we lost the war.

The Declaration of Independence didn't discuss slavery at all. It was a letter to the king stating the problems in the colonies and as far as they were concerned slavery wasn't a problem. The constitution made slaves 3/4 of a person when counting population for the number of Representatives needed in each state.
The oldest evidence of slavery dates to around 11,000 years ago. Anthropologists disovered a group of pygme remains in southern Africa that were shackled together. As far as recorded and confirmed slavery, the origins are either in ancient Egypt or ancient Sumeria. Egyptian hieroglyphics show that they indeed enslaved other human beings. Hammurabi's code is a detailed outline on law's regarding how to treat slaves
Slavery was an institution in every ancient civilization and culture. The Romans were no exception. Slavery was an ancient fact of life. The Romans used their slaves to handle various jobs and responsibilities, freeing up the owner to do other things and to accomplish more. The Romans depended on their slaves and trusted them with their money, their children, their businesses, and their households.
The past tense of handle is handled.
The most popular rationale for slavery is Africans and indigenous people (Native Americans) were better equipped to handle rigorous labor and endure hot temperatures than Caucasians.
The Africans were not enslaved by European countries as a result of the Spanish conquest of the Americas. It started shortly after Columbus arrived, but was a slow process. They needed the Africans because the Indian population was dwindling as a result of the hard labor they had to endure, of which they weren't used to before the conquests took place. They believed that the stronger African peoples were better equipped to handle such chores, so they started enslaving and trading Africans to many different countries who needed the extra hands working on plantations.
The Europeans thought the Africans couldn't handle the government themselves.
