He generally liked women. He took dancing lessons when he was a young man in NC and greatly liked to dance with women. He loved his wife very much , was always faithful to her, defended her honor vigorously when it was questioned, missed her a lot when they were apart and wrote nice letters back to her. After his wife died, he invited his wife's nephew and his wife to live with him in the White House. He loved having them around and took great interest in their family.
