The 1930's was a decade of much American history. In 1932, during the middle of the Great Depression, Democrat Franklin Roosevelt aka FDR was elected president. He is the only US president to be elected for more than two terms and had an optimism that helped boost the national spirit during devastating times. He believed in social welfare and instituted the New Deal. He also worked closely with Stalin and Churchill to defeat the Axis powers in WW2.
