they were affected after World War 2 because of the German immigrants coming into the eastern European countries like Poland and the Soviet Union which were turned into pre geman provinces over 12 million Germans moved into the countries

The Red Army (The Army Of the Soviet Union) continued west and conquered the Balkans including Bulgaria, Yugoslavia etc... Churchill of Britain flew to Moscow and famously wrote on a piece of paper who would have the sphere of influence over each country, Churchill allowed the Soviets to control almost all of Eastern Europe as long as England had control over Greece. So when the Soviet army took the countries out of Nazi hands they installed a pro soviet, socialist government (Eastern Europe never became communist it was socialist) and then they continued to Germany installing more countries when they took them.
