Hindu law of karma is evident even in our historical stories and Purans(ancient stories). Originally the Varna Vyavastha(now called the Caste System) was an economic truth realised by sages and thus is included in our doctines. It was as follows:

For any society to develop, it is important for these varnas to function properly and their importance should be realised.

1. Brahmins - the teachers/learned/philosophers/reformers/sages whos main aim was to see that Dharma(righteousness) prevails in the society. They have tremendous knowledge and sharp IQ's as economists or professors in modern day. They often created marvels in science and medicine.( The "0" was first found engraved on temple walls). They taught, consulted the kings, wrote books and set laws. Thus it is necessary that they stay pious and away from wealth(as wealth and brains together can corrupt)

2. Kshatriyas - Rulers/ warriors/soldiers/administration whos main aim was to exectute Dharma and laws, protect the state, do justice(like the army, court & police). They must consult the sages and learned Brahmins and must look into the welfare of the citizens and were grown up to be royal, brave, mighty and unbiassed in descisions.

3. Vaishyas - Who were the businessmen/money generators/traders/innovators who are the minds behind the business and trading and their dharma was to not cheat and pay taxes honesty, help the poor, and aid in the development of the economic well being of the society.

4. Shudras - land owning farmers/ labourers/employees. Their only dharma is to not cheat, be a good hard working person whether you work for the king or the businessmen, but be righteous, support your family and be honest.

Now because the brahmins had so much knowledge and decision power, they got corrupted over time and set laws and corrupted the kings as well to start a loot. Brahmins made laws and even added a few rules into the holy scriptures that they are the superior most people(Brahmins come from head and shudras from the feet of The Creator). This led to unruly classification of people and suppression. They changed the economic law into a hereditary law. Infact the whole point that since their previous life karma was bad, thts why they have been born into a lower caste to be punished, is also a fabrication of the intellegent Brahmin mind to suppress the simple Shudra and Vaishya mind. Main motive was to gain land and wealth by suppressing.

Infact it is metioned in the Bhavishya Purans(predictions/ future revelations) that the learned Brahmins will lose their righteousness and teaching abilities due to cheating and Kings will lose power. People with money will rule the earth with arrogance and unrighteousness & thus everyone, no matter what their Dharma should be, will be running after wealth for power or vice versa.

Nowadays people are studying our ancient scriptures and are getting enightened that nothing such exists, and it was a big scam by the Brahmins lasting for about last 1800 years. Infact in the scriptures, God has come to earth in many forms, all castes and even as animals.

Caste under normal circumstances would be assigned according to your area of work. Even in Hindu Astrology, there is a section pointing out your birth caste. It is based on what is your star and likely interest(just like horroscope says Aquarians are creative). My caste in my birth chart is different than what family I belong to.

People are realising this that they have been fooled and also you know the Mughals who ruled for 400 yrs and British for 200 years helped in giving a wrong picture to the world without in depth study coz their main aim was to demean Hindus.... but then that's another story.

Cheers... :)
