Some were hidden by people who disapproved of the killing of the Jews, at least they hid them until they were themselves taken to concentration camps. Some Jews, not many, did survive the concentration camps until the day that the war ended and they were then rescued. Those who survived were often those who had been considered "valuable" as slave labor for the Germans.
