The Nile affected life in ancient Egypt by leaving a deposit of mud on both sides of the river when it flooded. It created an area of rich soil which helped the farmers to grow surplus (extra) food in the Nile Valley. The surplus made Egypt prosperous. The Nile also made it easy to travel throughout the land.

Well, when the River Nile first flooded, it gave the farmers crops all the water they needed. It influenced the pharoah and the government by showing them that the flood could also kill people, too. When seeing this, the pharoah and the government realized that the people should be held at safe places for the amount of time it lasted.

The Nile was one of the major influences in ancient Egyptian culture. The Pharaoh really did not have much of a role with the Nile, the Nile rose and flooded the banks every year because it was nature, not anything the pharaoh did.
