The new deal tried to remedy the depression by creating millions of jobs for Americans. However, despite its intentions, the new deal did not curtail the depression, but actually furthered it by seven years.
From 1933 to 1938, Roosevelt's New Deal decided to spend money to help people back to work, rebuild trade and industry, and improve people's lives. They took measures which helped the poor back to work by organising Civil Works: building roads, bridges, schools, hospitals, etc. They also gave money to unemployed young people; paid the farmers not to produce grain, closed weak banks and reassured people's trust in banks. By creating new jobs they could stimulate economy (the demand got balanced with the supply gradually) and economic growing started.
The New Deal attempted to address the Depression by providing jobs for those who were able and support to the elderly and disabled. It was rooted in a sense of community that has been greatly diminished.
FD. Roosevelt found that the source of the great depression is the Banking system which had no central bank. So he closed banks to choose only the sounding banks to stay open. so that people regain confidence and start investing their money. SO the New Deal tried to solve the economic problem because it was the source of the depression.
Economy was at that time between the hands of the capitalists who were making profits. and the poor people were suffering because they could not reach the level of competition established by the capitalists.
His aim also was to establish social justice and this would help to reduce the depression by making every one work.

Unemployment was just as high when he left office. He was an unmitigated disaster and a devout Marxist. The new deal is the Communist manifesto.
After the Great Depression it was his response to help people during this time. At this point 1 out of 4 people were unemployed and many more people were starving out on the streets. The New Deal was his platform when he was running for president.

First of all, mild depression during certain times in your life is very common. My advice is to join a depression support forum where people help and talk one to one another to get out of depression. Here is a good forum where you can participate and read articles about depression: www.depressionforums.org/forums/.
A policy called the "New Deal" was set up by then-president Franklin Roosevelt.
