The black death spread from human to human mainly in seliva. When somebody who had the plague kissed a preist for instance, the priest would have the plague. In those times, kissing each other on the lips was a sign of gratitude and friendship and love. It was common to kiss each other which didnt make the plague easy to contain instead of spreading it by kissing their loved ones before they died.

Fleas from Asia traveled on infected black rats who carried them from place to place, so they could bite humans.t

The humans then had the bacteria in there body fluids which made them start getting the symptoms. The humans would pass it to each other by coughing and sneezing on them.

The Bubonic Plague spread from person to person by direct contact with something or someone infected.

You could get it by being bitten by a flea with it, coming into contact with infected body fluids, cloth, or just the person's skin. It wasn't spread through the air.

Disease was spread through fleas atop rats in the Plague. They would jump onto a human and begin to suck their blood (like all fleas do) but as they did this, they would inject a bacterium into the bloodstream which caused the plague.

Scientists now believe that there was more than one type of plague when the epidemic spread, but they were all caused by fleas.
